The day of the gig, Thursday 14th 2002 arrived. Got into my gear mainly consisting of a black and yellow oversized t-bag and the Heavy Traffic hoodie. Must make more effort on the old appearance front, hubby says variously that I would look better in a sack and have very boring/mumsy dress sense.

I had arranged for a local rock pub the Gloucester Arms to play some Quo and other classic rock stuff. I arrived here at about 5.45pm to find the Crazy Cowboys also having something to eat. Music was scheduled to start at 6.00, first track was Down Down and it sounded really good. Caroline, and All Stand Up were interspersed with a little ACDC, Ozzy and others through the evening.

Quo R Us and his mum arrived, a couple of minutes after the Crazy Cowboys left to look at things to buy at the gig. Did your mum manage to get any good photos QRU?

Don't Waste My Time, Crappy and TMK arrived having struggled to find a parking place, a common story in Oxford at least no one got clamped. Got a peck on the cheek from TMK, if only you were 5 foot 3, I would be swooning Collin! Rather bemused DWMT had expected me to a bloke along with Sharon, Whogetsit and probably others; I'm surprised they noticed I wasn't when they met me (refer to dress sense above).

We hurried to the Apollo and arrived in the middle of the
Andy, Rick and Francis
Little Egypt set. The first time I had heard them live, pretty good actually, nice bunch. They even survived TMK and Crappys Eat Your Greens banner.

While waiting for the gig to start a girlie near me got chatted up by blonde dread locked roadie (Tonto, Toot, Other?) she seemed remarkably unintested, I thought he was kinda cute and he was in the Gloc before the gig mmmm.

Heavy Traffic Report and Quo come on. I was on Rick's side, a surprise as Hogman had said I was on Rhinos. I didn't get as good a view of my fave Andy as I had hoped. He gave a great performance though. Love the blusey piano and harmonica dude.

Allegedly had a restricted view seat, but everyone moved so I didn't in the end. Creepin was in the set yipeeeee. Had a great time dancing

around and randomly hit the lower portions of several blokes anatomy that were near by (as usual), but no one got the wrong idea at least.

The set list

Caroline
The Wanderer
Something About You Baby I Like
Don't Waste my Time
4500 Times/Rain
All Stand Up
Solid Gold
Heavy Traffic
Creepin Up On You
Mystery Medley (inc Mystery Song,
Railroad, Most of the Time,
Rolling Home, Again & Again, Slow Train)
Gerdundula
Down Down
Big Fat Mama
Whatever You Want
Rocking All Over the World
Burning Bridges
Anniversary Waltz
Carol
Bye Bye Johnny

Got quite sweaty towards the end, on that basis must have had a good time. Ears survived well despite being on top of the speakers, several people near me wore ear plugs.

Went back to the Gloc. after the gig, saw 2 blokes in Piledriver t-shirts not sure who they were. After closing time I got a taxi back to avoid the Heavy Rain. Now I'm on a downer waiting for my next fix.

See you out there
