People

Mainly people who have inspired me at sometime or another

Charles Dawin the father of modern evolutionary theory, wrote the little known Power of Movement in Plants
                        Online Origin of Species
Online The Descent of Man, and Selection in Relation to Sex
Online The Expression of the Emotions in Man and Animals

S. J. Gould legendary evolutionary biologist and author, has re-worked many of Dawin's original theories

David Bellamy legendary conservationist and campaigner - his TV series got me into plants, should have a website in his own right - maybe my next project

Richard Dawkins
sometimes controversial but very sharp evolutionary biologist

Carl Linnaeus The father of plant taxonomy, inventing the Latin binomial system for plants and animals.  He was responsible for naming many species e.g. Scots Pine - Pinus sylvestris L. - the L. standing for Linneaus.  If you describe (you will need to publish this in Latin) and name a new species a shortened version of your name will appear after the binomial as you are the authority on that name

David Attenborough the voice of TV natural history

Rachel Carson founder of the modern environmental movement and writer of Silent Spring

James Lovelock author of Gaia a book about how the world "behaves" like a living organism
