"Middle elements" - conduct heat and electricity better than
nonmetals, but not as well as metals. Easier to shape than nonmetals, but not
as easy as metals. Solid at room temp.
Nonmetal
Poor conductors of heat and electricity. Not easily formed into
shapes.
