I was pleased to get a bursary for attending this conference. I wish to
thank Dr. Chris Exley for arranging this as I may not have been able to afford
to go to the conference without this. The conference was great and I have made
a number of new contacts in the world of Al and Si. I hope to go to the next one.

The title of my presentation was: The use of root growth and modelling data
to investigate amelioration of aluminium toxicity by silicon in Picea
abies seedlings.
M. Ryder1, F. Gerard2, D.E. Evans1, and
M.J. Hodson1.
The presentation went well and I was pleased to win the best postgraduate
presentation prize - a book on Alzheimers disease, needless to say I'm not sure
whether it has arrived yet or whether I have just misplaced it ???
